I've been putting in some pretty regular hours drawing comics for www.aseriesofcats.com --a perfect opportunity to set up a live streaming show for other people to watch/laugh at my techniques and talk to me over the chat! However, I can't decide which of these two popular streaming sites to use. I've done a bit of research and everyone seems divided. Some artists use Ustream, some use Livestream.

In your experience, which site do you use more for your artist-stalking? Which one do you recommend I go with?

I'm alive, everyone! It's been two years, give or take. I've been through a leetle bit of a rough spot during that time, but now I'm finally ready to venture back on the Intertubes.

However, don't expect me to be posting here with any regularity until at least April. The school/dorm Internet has DA blocked and I have to go all the way to the mall coffee shop in order to even log on. I do expect to be posting on my FurAffinity account, though (since, for some reason, a furry porn site is free to go to while this place is blocked), so if you are interested, just mosey on down to www.furaffinity.net/user/danke… (all my art there is clean)

I recall one trade that I had yet to complete here. If someone has an uncompleted trade and/or commission from me, please note me and I'll get it sorted out for ya.

So, the Okami contest is finally over. I was pretty surprised at the winners, but that's not what I'm here to talk about. I was amazed at a lot of the entries in this contest. The sheer creativity and beauty just blew me away. So, I thought I would share a few of my personal favorites. They're so wonderful that I can't help but give them free advertising.

Okami-Great Goddess, Amaterasu by
When I play Okami, I often wonder, "How can such a rude, simpleminded wolf be the sun goddess, the mother of all life?" This picture is, I think, the closest answer there is to that question. It is incredibly serene, with an almost heavenly feel to it.


Okami: The Gods by
This amazing piece showcases all the Brush Gods in the game. It is wonderfully composed, and shows off each one of the Brush Gods in amazing detail. If I didn't know better, I would swear it was straight out of the official Okami artbook.

Alive by
The title is spot-on! I've never been able to capture the pure rush of Amaterasu racing past, showering flowers in her wake, but this picture does just that. I am also in love with the wonderful brush strokes in this picture.

Path to the Future and Where was Issun? by
Path to the Future looks just like it was out of the game, and its companion picture just makes me laugh! It's exactly what Issun would do. But I wonder: wouldn't it be hot underneath that flaming Reflector?

One Who Illuminates Heaven by
This picture is almost abstract, with its soft, flowing pastels. It perfectly shows off the rare serene side of the great sun goddess. I usually dislike human versions of Amaterasu, but this one I don't mind. I also find it oddly appropriate that human Amaterasu's dress reminds me of Mount Fuji.

Okami by
A rare 3-D work! Such a cute, whimsical little Amaterasu doll. I want to snuggle it! Although, its eyes look like they are going to eat my soul. Maybe I shouldn't get too close after all...

I've started replying to comments again, at least.

By the way, my Sasa Springs deviation was DIVINELY INSPIRED I swear. I've always sucked at backgrounds and getting colors to work together, but I seem to have had a breakthrough this time around.

Now, I'll stop drawing sparrows and get back to them art trades and commissions. Huurgh.

I'm not trying to be rude by not replying to everyone's kind comments. Thank you so much for the time you generously take to comment on my stuff! It's just that it's finals week, and I'm extremely busy and distracted.

Also, thanks a lot to the twist of fate that inspired the DA peoples to schedule this Okami contest in the middle of my finals. Hopefully I'll be alive enough after all this to scrape together something Okami related. Not that I'd win, it's just that it's almost sacreligious that I don't have any fan art to show my appreciation for this game that I love so much.

I find it hilarious that this is the third journal in a row I've submitted after 2 am.
